Fendi has relocated its Midtown flagship store to an even more prominent location. The interior plays with materials that highlight Fendi’s design codes and tradition of dualism, pairing industrial cement columns and beams with luxurious touches of marble, brass and steel, accentuated with plush carpeting. Alternating materials on the floor and walls add depth and accentuate women’s leather goods and accessories. The Arabescato Vagli marble is reminiscent of Roman architecture and creates a magnificent atmosphere. The store is designed as a gallery space, but one immersed in the history of the Roman fashion house, and obviously, incorporating many nods in the settings. The building’s façade maintains its original aesthetic, but the shop windows are adorned with see-through LED curtains, which line up three floors vertically and decorate the six windows, express the image of Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana a.k.a. Fendi‘s headquarters in Rome. Much later one of the lines the company Fendi has become the line items of fur and skin, which determined the cooperation of this Italian fashion house with furniture manufacturer Club House Italia. A collaboration of two iconic brands was the creation of a unique style based on tradition and fashion. Marble stairs lead up to the second floor, featuring a setting with Italian-designed furniture in an open space accented with warm gold in soft shades of natural colours such as ivory, and presenting the women’s ready-to-wear collections. The new collections were conceived through the partnership between Silvia Venturini Fendi and designer selected by the creative director of Fendi Casa herself. These joint initiatives explore a variety of styles of expression, all of which are connected by a curated attention towards creativity, materials and details. The products are then designed and produced with this vision in mind, bringing together some of the most creative designer of our time. Under this new joint venture, Silvia Venturini Fendi, the house’s director of accessories and men’s wear continues to creatively lead the Casa collection, and with Brunschwig the designer has been spearheading a major evolution of the line. Meanwhile, the house of Fendi was established by Adele and Edoardo Fendi in Rome in 1925. After the opening of the first Fendi boutique, a handbag shop and fur workshop followed.
